We're looking for a VP of Engineering to join our growing team and help us continue to develop and execute our technical roadmap as well as team scaling.

The current engineering team and culture

Since the very beginning, Tenderly has been an engineering first organization, having 4 technical co-founders. Most of the tools and processes are catered towards engineers, from the product grooming sessions all the way to owning the whole delivery process.

Right now, the organization recognizes 4 engineering disciplines (subject to change):

  • UX Engineering - Responsible for creating all the UI-related code and infrastructure.
  • Platform Engineering - Responsible for core platform capabilities: low-level facilities, internal services and self-service infrastructure.
  • Product Engineering - Responsible for productizing the core platform services and working closely with the Platform Engineering team.
  • Site Reliability Engineering - Responsible for building and maintaining monitoring, tracing, and other introspection facilities as well as establishing and building great operational tools and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the engineering team — set and drive team goals and participate in the hiring process.
  • Collaborate with the CTO and SVP on the technical strategy of the company.
  • Collaborate with the CTO in defining the internal engineering culture.
  • Enable the engineering team and make sure that everyone knows whats the next step for them inside of the company.
  • Develop and maintain the technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint.
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to help shape the product roadmap.
  • Work closely with the customer success and forward deploy engineers to correctly prioritize efforts that are needed by our customers.

Requirements

  • Worked in SaaS/PaaS companies before.
  • Experience in hiring and managing a high-performing engineering team.
  • Experience in working with external stakeholders to correctly identify problems and opportunities both from a product and technological perspective.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills while working cross-functionally; ability to drive alignment among teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Nice to have experience with: Building and scaling complex distributed systems, Multi-cloud environments, Kubernetes, Microservices architectures, Security.
